David Elvidge

Minster and Woodmansey

I have lived and worked in and around Beverley all my life. I first joined the East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) in 2011 whilst continuing to work within the vehicle and equipment Workshop at the Defence School of Transport at Leconfield where I have been employed since 1993. During my time with the Council I have served on a number of committees covering a variety of services ranging from Police, Licencing and Health to in the last few years all aspects of Environment and Regeneration. I have also during this time continued to serve as a Town Councillor for Beverley being first elected in 2007 and gaining the honour of serving as Mayor in municipal year 2009 to 2010. Living locally has allowed me to interact with the residents I serve on a daily basis and they have never been slow to ask for my help or offer feedback on Council decisions and policy. I also continue to work with SSAFA East Yorkshire as Deputy Chairman, the oldest military charity in the UK which supports serving personnel, reservists, veterans and their families. It has been a great privilege to serve as an East Riding Councillor and I have learnt an enormous amount about the 500 plus services ERYC continue to deliver despite the prolonged and continued financial challenges we have faced. Should I be successful in being re-elected I will continue to make myself available at all times and do my best to ensure the residents of Minster and Woodmansey are represented fully and given a strong voice at County Hall.
