Jane Evison

East Wolds and Coastal

I have lived in the East Riding of Yorkshire for all my married life and have had the pleasure of raising my family in the area.  Before joining East Riding of Yorkshire Council at its inception in 1995 I managed a small local business for over 10 years.

During my time on the council I have chaired several committees and currently sit on the East Riding of Yorkshire Cabinet, and have covered a variety of services ranging from education, housing, tourism and economic development

I have always maintained a strong interest in rural issues and my priority has been my work within my own rural ward which comprises 21 parishes. The views & needs of the people I have represented is of paramount importance to me & I have been pleased to use the knowledge I have gained during my time as a councillor to ensure their voice is heard.

In 2002 I successfully started the Community Transport scheme called H.A.R.T. from our humble beginnings the transport group now operates 10 vehicles which serve a very wide area and last year provided transport for over 330,000 passengers.

It has been a privilege to be a councillor on East Riding of Yorkshire which continues to be a council that delivers good & reliable services for residents despite current financial challenges.

Should I be successful in being re-elected I will continue to make myself available at all times & do my best to ensure residents of the East Wolds & Coastal Ward are always well represented.
